Sonny’s Spring Break

Sonny’s back from his annual Spring Break/Recruiting Trip to South Carolina and we’ll be bringing a whole new batch of Crabs to Poe on Friday March 30th. Which poses a great question- do you go with the ranked Crabs, the number 8s, the 57s, or the 75s? Or do you grab one of the newcomers, which always upset the apple cart during the months of April and May? One thing’s for sure, anybody has a chance to pick up some great prizes at the Hi Ho Again tomorrow night. So be there, I know I will!!

We start the month with 3 shows- Wednesday in Marion at Folkie’s, then Thursday at Dill Street in Muncie, and finally, on Friday at The Hi Ho Again with our buddies up in Poe! New Team Rankings!

The League Rankings are up! This year we’ll be using the “Colin Powell System” which rewards not only the Top 4 Crabs each night, but also awards points for wins in the Prelims. As you can see, The Crustacean Sensations took advantage of the new system by bringing a big crowd and getting lots of Crabs into the Semis.

We’ve also revised The Draft System. Get to the Races before the Draft (approximately 7:15) and we’ll shuffle all the entries. This means that you don’t have to get to Folkie’s first to get the first pick!

See you on February 1st!

DOWN TO THE WIRE!!!

The Aggressive Homoerotic Unicorn Glitter Party strengthened their hold on 1st Place with a 1-2 finish on Thanksgiving Eve. They’ve got a 21 point lead on the 2nd Place Crustacean Sensations with 26 points available in the final 2 weeks of racing. The best hope for the Sensations is to show up this Wednesday early with 6-8 players and hope for a Unicorn shutout. Not impossible, but it’s going to be tough. We may all be singing the Unicorn anthem before the night is out! See you there!!

Here’s a new feature for all you Crab Wonks wanting a little more analytics in your Crab Choosing just in time for our big Thanksgiving Eve Show. It’s the Crab Ranking Worksheet. It contains results from the most recent races, giving you the ability to “go deep” on your Crab picks. Here’s where it’s at, hover over the top of the “total” column for an explanation of how we rank the Crustaceans. Pick ’em around 7:30, race ’em at 8:00. See you there!!!

Finally got everything caught up. Crab Rankings, Team Rankings, and the Results Spreadsheet are all current and ready for your perusal!

Don’t forget- Sonny is returning from his Fall Scouting Expedition (FSE), and is bringing in a load of fresh talent from South Carolina, so Wednesday’s Baseball/Halloween Extravaganza should be a free-for-all (at a dollar a Crab)!

World Rankings

The new rankings are up. Super Crab remains #1, despite not getting to the Finals for the past three races. I have a feeling he’ll start moving down the list over the next couple of weeks. #46 is in Second on the strength of back-to-back wins, but failed to take a heat on the 24th. A three way tie for Third between #17 (he may have passed on, it’s hard to make the Semis when you’re dead), #29 (an every other week Crab), and #88 (our winner on the 24th at Folk’s).

Crabs that aren’t Ranked but might win you a prize are #59, who took Second on the 24th, and #50, who has made the Semifinals for the past 10 consecutive Folkie’s/Three Kings races. Unfortunately, he’s only gotten to the Finals once in those 10 races, finishing 3rd at the last set at Folkie’s.

All in all, it’s pretty wide open right now with the lowest First Place point total in quite a while. It will be interesting to see if we have a Crab start to assert itself. I know I can’t wait.
