Hoy hoy CrabHeads!
The last time we were in Poe, Glenn Frey was celebrating his 68th birthday and everybody was hoping for a mild winter. Well, I’ve got good news and I’ve got bad news… It does seem like ages since we’ve seen our Yodertucky buddies, but take heart! We’re back on Friday the 29th with Beers Of The World Crab Racing!
All the great beer songs and all the fastest crabs this side of Monroeville, kickin’ off the weekend at the epicenter of Southern Allen County nightlife, The Hi Ho Again! Plus a SPECIAL BONUS! The Fourth Place finisher gets a copy of the original Crab Racing movie- “The Night The Lights Went Out At Folkie’s”, Crab Racing from 1993. A bit more primitive than the refined sport we have today, but mildly entertaining in a disturbing kind of way. Special indeed!
But before we get to Poe, we make a stop at the “Wrigley Field of Crab Racing”, Folkie’s in Marion! I told you guys that there was something about Thursday nights, Big teams, great participation. Well let’s do it again this Thursday. Beers Of The World Crab Racing at the best bar in the world (check local listings).
Anywho, join us for a great start to your weekend and the Train Rule is in effect*. AND anyone who joins us for both nights gets their Crab for free! It’s the Greatest 90 Minutes in Sports, pick ’em at 7:30, race ’em at 8:00. See you there!!
*Crab Racers Code
Section 10, Paragraph E, – The Train Rule.
If at any venue there are 36 or more entrants when Time is called, the theme for that evening will be appended with “Train” with the exception of Train Crab Racing, which would become Train Train Crab Racing, which is not only redundant, but the music department might be hard pressed to come up with 16 suitable Molly Hatchett songs. Not that they’re not a great band, there are those that would argue that at at their peak, they were the quintessential “three guitar army” southern rock band. But I’m thinkin’ that about seven races in I’ve had my fill of “chukka-chukka-chukka”. But we digress. At that time the train and it’s accompanying paraphernalia shall be deployed and the Train portion of the reading of the rules will be inserted into the shtick. Please note- The 36 entrants shall be comprised of Non-Folkie’s Fokkers entrants with the exception of “Independent” racers, who will be included toward the aforementioned 36 entrants. No Crabs entered by or on behalf of any employee or relative of said employee of Folkie’s Tavern and/or Sonny’s Crab Racing is eligible to be included in the count toward fulfilling the 36 Crab threshold. As well, final interpretation of all rules is subject to the mood and whimsy of the Man with the Microphone. As far as you know. 13 April 2016
