Behind The Shell, Pt. 7

Hoy hoy CrabHeads!
First of all, thanx to everyone that came out this week for the races in Marion and Poe. We had a blast both nights and are grateful to all of you who support us.
I’ve was scrolling through the archives today and had a couple of thoughts. I noticed that in the ten years since we started the blog, what started as, say, a “mediocre” writing ability, has exhibited an almost incomprehensible consistency. So much so, that it’s impossible to tell what I wrote today from the ten year old stuff. So that’s something. The other thing that I was reminded of was why we started the CrabLine.
Chainsaw Sisters Racing takes its name from the bar in the wilderness of the Canadian border in which the team was originally conceived, and started with two founding members, WHITASITA and myself . WHITASITA is a man of leisure. Artist, plant scientist, angler, and three time fourth runner-up for the most interesting man in the world. He spends his winters at his family’s home in Marion, and the rest of the year at his place up north on the lake. CrabLine was started as a way for him to follow the races while he was away from Marion. In those days, the posts were very detailed, and generally followed the form- intro, trivia results (including answer, winner, and prize), race results (including Crab number, Crab name, owner, and prize), and then a recap and close. Some posts included the evening’s playlist and the whole thing was peppered with hyperlinks, both pertinent and not.
At that time we were doing five or six shows a month, and it wasn’t that tough to post each race. Later, in 2011 we were doing 10 or so shows a month and it just was too tough for us to keep up. Who knows, we’re on a light schedule at the current time, maybe we’ll take a stab at a long form recap every now and then. For now, here’s a link to one of the old issues-
