Hoy Hoy!!
Greetings from Casa dos Gatos. How’s things? Did a quick trip to Dallas last week. Flew out of Fort Wayne on Wednesday at 6:30 AM and got back on Thursday at 9:30 PM. On the way down I discovered that the recording of the Medeski, Scofield, Martin, & Wood show that we saw at The Vogue back in 2006 fits exactly in the space between “you can use approved electronic devices” and “please turn off all electronic devices”. It’d been quite a while since I’d listened to it, and I was reminded of what an incredible show it was. So good in fact that I listened to it on the way down and hit it again on the way back. I’ll put a little bit in the post, beginning with a some “Tequila and Chocolate”, enjoy.
Beautiful Crab Crowd this evening in the friendly confines. Most of the Major Teams are represented. But first, a little “Last Chance To Dance Trance”. We have Team Hincky, The Crustacean Sensations, Folkie’s Fockers, The Crabby Old Pharts, The Sapphire Racing League (currently leading the Folkie’s Team Rankings). As well as one of the last Spring appearances of the Chainsaw Sisters, joined tonite by my eldest, Capital K. Don’t know that I’ll ever get used to that. The first time I saw MMW was back in 1997 I think. They were playing the second stage at the HORDE Fest at Deer Creek and I remember being crushed by this one. I believe Kylie was with me, that would have made her 12. Such weirdness for a young child.
Anyway, back to the races. We are extremely honored at the return of the Tighter Than A Banjo String Crew, led by the incredible Leslie. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the last time she was with us, she was about to become Mrs. Someone. Oh well, our loss and Mr. Someone’s gain. Lucky bastard. Anyway here’s another one from the boys, this one with the legendary John Scofield. Time for a little “Chicken Dog”.
It appears that Abe and Molly have relinquished their Independent Status for at least the night and joined the Pharts. We wish them the best, I believe the COF Team is currently Second in the Rankings, which isn’t bad for a Team that usually only races two. We’ll see how it bears out. Here are a couple more from MMW. The first is “Chubb Sub” and that’s followed by “The Dropper”.
All fifty states are on the board, most of them blue. Steve Schrader is your gracious host. Ricky Four Inch is behind the bar and Thursday Night Shane is in the kitchen. Rhonda’s on the floor, SERVING US ALL and all you Socialists better have yer Fackin’ Flag Pins (FFP), because it’s time for-

The Crabs return to Folkie’s on April 1st with Baseball Crab Racing. Here’s one last song from our featured artist. Mr Scofield rejoins the band and brings along his guitar. I’m just a bass player, but I believe he uses all six strings on this one, it’s titled “Hottentot”. Enjoy.
ciao for nao
